This piece was stitched as gift for someone special, my grandmother.
I started this
piece on 21 March 2002 and finished on 30 September 2003. I received
the framed piece back in December. Naturally, Dan at Matte Ink
framed the piece. It was my last piece that he framed before
he abandoned me and moved to Alabama. I deviated from the pattern
by doing the skin over one and converting the hair color of the
girls in green and blue to more closely match those of my two
cousins. The pictures reminded me of the three of us as little
girls. I presented the picture to my grandmother on Christmas
Morning. She cried. My mom cried. My aunts cried. It was very
touching.
