Roy had agreed to help his dad with the crop and some much needed repairs to the house on the farm at Punkin Bend. It was soon time for spring plowing and planting. This was done with a lot less horsepower than it is today – usually one horse or one mule. Less horsepower meant more manpower was needed and the days were long and hard.
